Bullfrog
(Rana catesbeiana)
The Bullfrog is the largest native frog in North America! This frog is so big that it occasionally eats small birds, snakes, and other frogs!
This species is commonly consumed as “frog legs” in the U.S. and around the world. But studies have shown that the frog leg industry spreads fungal and viral diseases which can be major threats to wild frog populations. Please don’t eat the frogs! (learn more: Save the Frogs)
