Hal Brindley with his photo in the Nature Conservancy Calendar 2014

I got an email from my friend Jeff Crawn (check out his awesome pics here) that said, congratulations on your photo in the Nature Conservancy Calendar!

And I said, “uh… thanks! What photo?” I had no idea that they had used one! My mom gave me her copy of the calendar and there it was on the month of August. It’s not one of the main month photos, just a little sidebar pic. But it is still nice to have one show up there.

I took the photo while on a volunteer shoot for the Nature Conservancy at one of the Virginia Coast Reserve islands in 2005, which is clearly why they used it, even though it’s not a very exciting pic.

Just for fun I dug out the original. Here it is!
